Storm Hits UK, Leaves 50,000 Homes Powerless
London: Christmas Day as observed internationally on 25th December, left the British people without power. Around 50,000 homesdoomed into darkness, while hundred others evicted as escape from the floods because of UK Storm. Flights were delayed. The departing flights at London Gatwick airport, North Terminal, experienced inconvenience.Europe stormed while the situations devastated as aftermath. East and South east of the England affected to the harsh climate. Around 50,000 homes went without electricity, say Energy Networks Association.
The power outage sufferers were entertained with Christmas dinner by the UK Power Company Networks in restaurants and local pubs. The emergency call of flood, evacuated around 90 people at 3:00 am (0300 GMT). The announcement was made for the homes, nearby River Stour, Bournemouth on the south coast.
Due to the Christmas Day, all the flights at London Gatwick were cancelled, which is considered to be the second busiest airport of England’s capital.
Flights from South Terminal however remained unsuspended, except British Airways flight. Engineers had been deployed to fix the technical issues at the North Terminal, further stated the emergency services sources.
